Solar could help you generate more of your own electricity and reduce how much you need to buy from the grid.

By using more of your own solar electricity, you could reduce the amount of electricity you need to buy from the grid. The potential saving depends on your home, system and energy use.
A battery can store excess solar electricity for you to use later, such as in the evening when your panels aren't generating.
If you're eligible, you may be able to receive payments for electricity you export to the grid through the Smart Export Guarantee.
Solar panels generate electricity during daylight hours. A battery can store some of that electricity so you can use it later, such as in the evening.
Whether battery storage is right for you depends on your home, energy usage and the system design.
The Solar Sidekick check covers solar panel systems, with battery storage available as an option. We don’t currently accept battery-only enquiries.
